Sleepaway Camps offer potential campers the chance to spend a day a camp and try it out! This is called a Rookie Day.
Spend a day with other children and go to many of the activities offered at the camp.
This is one of the choices that a family has when going to visit overnight camps.
A family can either do a regular 1.5 hour tour with a camp director or a camp staff member or get a general overview of what a camp
has to offer in facilities and programming…or plan to participate in a Rookie Day where the parents tour the camp and the potential camper spends the day.
Not every camp offers Rookie Days and then there are some camps that offer Mini Camps that last several days.
